Last night I wrapped up my 5 week Beginner Course! Last night I wrapped up my 5 week Beginner Course! ✨ The first, but certainly not the last, of these mini journeys into yoga as a physical, mental, and spiritual guide into Self. We moved slowly, we tended to our emotional landscapes, we created a toolbox of poses/ breathwork/ philosophy to ground us into the present moment, and most of all, we showed up for ourselves in new ways. A commitment and dedication that I hope sparks a lifelong curiosity of the practice, but also a gentleness as we transcend the human experience.

I'm so proud of my students. And I'm chuffed that all my hard work paid off and I did the thing I set my mind and heart to! ❣️

It was truly a joy to walk through the gorgeous courtyard and through the doors of such a heart-centred community space every week. Thank you @jikajikacc 🙏

POV: how to stay happy and sane 😃😍 I have a move POV: how to stay happy and sane 😃😍 

I have a movement background filled with yoga, dance, acrobatics, climbing, weight lifting, somatic release, mobility training, qi gong, and flow arts. And all my past and present teachers shape how I embody movement and mindfulness, and I am so grateful for that. 

Now, being a teacher myself, I can mould all these practices into my own offerings. Encouraging strength and resilience, yielding and letting go, concentration and awareness, fear and confidence, freedom and expression, so my students can discover the full scope of their capabilities too 🙌

Yoga was my first love, where I learnt so much about myself. And have since enjoyed discovering how my body likes to move, challenging my fears, and finding joy in the many loose and structured disciplines that I now do most days of the week ♥️

My Beginner Course Yoga is an invitation to move better,  enjoy learning about movement of the body, be present with the mind, and try something new even when it's scary. All are welcome: the curious minded, the stiff-bodied, the nervous, and open-hearted.

No matter your age, sex, race, or experience, I welcome you with courage and softness. There is no striving, only trying and being exactly what you can and what you need, in this moment ✨

Welcome to ZalaHeart Yoga, I'm Laura. These practices are about connection to ourselves and each other, a place to explore and be playful in a safe environment. I can't wait to share this with you!

ZalaHeart Yoga
Add some gentle movement into your day with ZalaHeart Yoga! This practice is great for children aged 3-8 years old. They can follow along by themselves, or if joined by an adult it's the perfect opportunity to bond with no distractions and to focus on finding connection and trust together. 
The class will include a mixture of exercises and breath work for both adults and kids. It supports mindful movements that help parents to come back to themselves and kids to explore their bodies. The class will finish with quiet time to find stillness and reflection.

This short practice can be done daily to connect in and allow you and your child to move your bodies! Either at night before bed, or in the morning/afternoon.
Please encourage them to be expressive and join in with any sounds during the video. They may follow along or they may not, but as long as they are having fun that's all that matters 🎉
I hope you find this practice valuable, to move energy and to clear the mind. If this is your first time doing yoga you're doing amazing. And know that the practices get easier the more you do it 🙏

***My Zoom classes for Kid's Yoga are not currently running***
A simple 30min class to ground you into your day. Just play your favourite music/playlist (I love Indian flutes or Hang drums) while flowing along :) It's perfect for any time of day, and will leave you with a feeling of stability and openness. Enjoy!
